Programs:
9:30 a.m. Bearing Maintenance presented by Buzz Arithson and Duane Keast from Dodge Industrial

How to determine what bearing is best for the application.
Define the differences between ball, tapered and spherical bearings.
Why bearings fail.
Proper maintenance of bearings and current monitoring systems.
Safety: Proper design of guarding around rotating shafts and best safety practices.

10:45 a.m. -  Dust Collector Troubleshooting presented by Neal Young from Donaldson Company

Learn how to identify, analyze and troubleshoot dust collectors that exhibit source/stack emissions and/or lack of airflow. There will be an emphasis on identifying root cause failure origination from effects of Air-to-Media Ratio, Can/Interstitial Velocity, Ductwork Design,  Fan Effects, Static Pressure Impact, Filter Media Failure and Pulse Jet Cleaning System. Come see some show and tell of the various components.

2:00 p.m. - Does life have value?, Ric Voelker, Nebraska Safety Council
Ric has been with NESC since January 2017. He has been an adult instructor since 2004 and brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge from work in law enforcement. He has been focused in workplace safety since 2006 and continues to grow and expand his skillset in this specialty. His enthusiasm to share his experience has made a big impression on those who work with him.
